Boys
don't play with barbies - let alone dress them. But designer Kamiar
Rokni's axioms, beliefs, personal tenets - in essence the elements
that define Karma style - centre around the flamboyance of the Karma
woman..."confident, beautiful, poised, and unafraid of decadent
adventure"... the quintessential sex and the city doll.
And as a tribute to Karma's clientele, ("women who buy
roses on their way back from work...always make heads turn...intimidate")
in their latest collection, dynamic duo Maheen Kardar and Kamiar
manifest their design ethos in a Euro-trash inspired '70s glam look.
Once again, east meets west as the traditional tie-and-dye is combined
with seventies swing and worked with beaded and sequined embellishments.
With a shocking colour palette of hot pink, fuschia, blood red and
sun gold, the flirty fabrics and multilayered bias cuts are designed
to tease the senses - it's very 'come hither' combined with 'catch
me if you can.' So the next time you have the urge to paint your
toenails - and the town - red, do it with Karma.
